It Can be say as the Best college in Tura
John Sathish
In Don Bosco College Tura we give the best for students' learning. The staff are the best in the state of Meghalaya. New initiatives have been introduced like a WiFi campus with opportunity for students' growth. Some of the new initiatives are: Mentoring for students, Remedial classes, Counselling, Smart Classrooms, Language Lab, monthly attendance mentoring, a state of the art gym, bus services, a clean canteen, a green clean campus, plastic free campus, a safe campus for girls, a ragging free campus, internet facilities in the library, a reading hub, conference hall etc. Some of the plans are: A green house for Botany department, a fish pond and an animal house for Zoology department and many more. We at Don Bosco College are trying our best to make Don Bosco College, Tura "an Institution that grooms generations, leaving a legacy."

Don Bosco College, Tura has given me a great experience in life. In fact, it has taught me a lot, not only academically, but in social and way to tackle economic aspects too. It has also taught me to value relationships like friendship, family and others. I have seen Mr. Mehdi Hassan's review and I have a question for him.. Dear Mehdi, I hope you got to mingle with the right circle, i.e, if you were ever in Don Bosco College, Tura. Because, what I see is that, there are always the good and the bad circle of gangs everywhere. Our Indian cinema has got plenty to show. They might have exaggerated, But, there is nothing illogical in the drama they portrayed. It is everywhere. Garo tribes go outside NE and I could say, they are not safe out there. But, I won't say that, because, Garos knows how to survive in difficult situation. So, may they continue to use their own logics. I won't say the non-Tribals behave like a pack of monkeys with our Garo youth. In fact, they gave our youth the reason to learn to survive in those situations. Don Bosco College, Tura, is a college started by Roman Catholic Mission and run by the Mission. We are very thankful to them for bringing the quality education to Garo Hills. Bless them. The College Administration is carried out by the education wing of the Roman Catholic Mission. As far as I remember and know, the principal so far has been a Reverend Father from the South Indian background. He got control over all the students, non-Tribals or the monkeys from Garo tribes (according to bro. Mehdi). As for the student circle, I have nothing more to say that what I see is an amiable circle of youth. I loved being in this college. In our time, the Garos and the Non-Tribals have equal benefits as well as mingled as one body. Friendship was highly appreciated from both ends. Also, the teacher-student relationship was considerably very good. It has got a good facility like computer centres, good library, good hang out places, well furnished gallery and game room..In our time, we lack those, except for the computer centre, library and a good canteen which was our hang out place. Loved them all. and I must add that most of the students, both Garos and the Non-Tribals are still in touch, though, we have spread far and wide. Apart from the academical degrees, Don Bosco College, Tura has taught us the bond of friendship and to keep it, irrespective of which tribe or race we belong to. May all the people who are associated with this college have a good memory of the college and I am sorry to those who have ill memories of their time there. I am sure, had they mixed with the right circle, they would have said that their best memories were created in this college, like many Garos and Non-Garos from other tribes as well as Non-Tribals are saying now as found by many reviews from my other fellow Don Bosco-ans. As it is, we have students from diverse backgrounds and tribes from all over the North East India coming over here to study. Long Live Don Bosco College, Tura.
