Its a government college, the college building is recently constructed. It has two block - block A (administrative block) & block B (academic block).

My parent Institution, served from 1997 -2012. Government Arts College, planning to start Science &PG Courses very soon.

No parking for students as parking was provided only for staffs , I spent around ₹100 for parking fee, Exam hall was really noisy as Basketball was played during exam time. On top of that, evening sunrays disturbed us alot...

The Aizawl West College was founded on 2 May, 1990 with the primary objective of imparting college education in the evening hours for deserving students especially to the students who could not afford education in daycollege. When the Govt. upgraded Aizawl College, to the status of Govt. College in 1989, Govt. converted the college into day college and hence the need of another evening college. While there were colleges in the eastern, southern and northern part of Aizawl City, there was not a single college in the western part of Aizawl. Thus considering the need of those students for pursuing their higher education, opening a new college in the western part of Aizawl was a necessity. Hence, Aizawl West College was established out of the enthusiasm of the general public in this part of the city. The Land was donated by the residents of the Locality of Dawrpui Vengthar, Aizawl.Mission/VisionTo develop personality through quality education.To build the institution on the foundation of spiritual, moral and cultural values.To impart value-based education with avowed aims of helping needy students.To instill self-confidence, sensibility and responsibility in the studentsTo encourage and facilitate quality-related research studies.To make the institution adaptable to the emerging ideas and systems at any level-Regional National or Global.

Government Aizawl West College is located along side of the main road connecting Vaivakawn and Temple square locality. Mizoram Rural Bank, Dinthar branch was also opened up opposite to the college building. The location of the college mentioned near High field was incorrect.

Aizawl West College is an educational institution located in Dawrpui Vengthar, Aizawl, Mizoram. It is currently affiliated with Mizoram University.Aizawl West College was founded on 2 May 1990 with 7 teachers and 150 students with the primary objective of imparting college education in the evening hours for deserving students especially to the students who could not afford education in day college. When the government upgraded Aizawl College to the status of government aided college in 1989, it became a day college and hence the need of another evening college. While there were colleges in the eastern, southern and northern part of Aizawl city, there was not a single college in the western part of Aizawl. Thus considering the need of those students for pursuing their higher education, a new college was opened in the western part with land donated by the residents of the locality of Dawrpui Vengthar, Aizawl.The college was first affiliated to the North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) for pre-university (arts) on 9 March 1992, and degree (arts) on 9 June 1994.
