IISER TVM is an autonomous public university located in Vithura and about 43 km from Thiruvananthapuram Central (2 hr journey on KSRTC bus). The campus spans about 200 acres with science blocks, lecture hall complex, residency area, hostels, cafes and indoor stadium and many more. The campus is located in the foothills of western ghats mountain thus giving it a great ambiance and atmosphere.In order to reach the campus you can either get a Direct bus to IISER from Thampanoor bus station or get on a Vithura bus and catch an auto to the institute. The auto might charge 150. Buses are not frequently available.I visited the institute as part of the RPWS program in the school of biology for 3 weeks. The program was really great. The staff and professors there were really hospitable. The research labs and instruments available here are also really sophisticated.The hostels and mess food is also appreciable. Internal shuttle buses are also available so that you don't have to walk a long distance. Overall I loved the experience of being there at IISER TVM.

IISER THIRUVANANTHAPURAM campus situated at maruthamala enroute Vithura- Bonakkad. Scenic campus nestling in the foothills. Dual BS- MS program , PhD program in pure sciences available. It is deemed university, an institute at par with IITs albeit IITs technology edge. Admission here is based on a national level tough entrance test. If your child is passionate about learning science, this institute could mould him to a brilliant scientist. Though campus is at a distant area away from the hustle and bustle of the city it is nearly self sufficient in all respects. Come let the nature kindle the scientific spirit within you.It's a lovely campus. The architecture is very well thought out. It is an excellent place to be an undergrad in. The atmosphere is very student friendly. The facilities are world cast view is obviously amazing. It is quite remote hence reaching there is difficult. But once you are there or is worth it.Good Institute, it's in a calm place, good environment to study. Things that are needed: stationary shop with xerox, lamination, printout. Hair salon atleast one more. More copies of books that are suggest by the professors, in the library. And the semesters are too short. One semester is only of 3.5 months and for msc, this is a very short time period for doing a one semester project and also for knowing a subject better.

The best science education college in India with the most beautiful campus. This campus is eco friendly and situated far away from town, which is actually a disadvantage for the students as they have to wait for the bus and travel in it for nearly 2.5 hours which is hectic, but the scenic beauty of the campus is good.

The central Instrumentation Facility is one of the best in its class. The campus is situated in a remote area, so it is little difficult to reach the campus. But when you reached in the campus everything is available.
