This is one of the most popular NAAC approved college in this area because the students are coming from two different districts Hooghly and Howrah but this is at Howrah. This is a graduate college based on Arts and Commerce. Honours & General course offer here but the subject combination is not peaceful ! Subject combination is done by the college and it's depends on facilities. Every faculties are more enthusiastic to teach but students are mentally prepared to unwilling the class.Infront of this college six memorable statues are here including Panchanan Roy. A big playground is here behind this college. I also was a student on 2010-13 session.

Not that much good college. Teacher's behaviour is like an uneducated person. Teachers have very ego problem. Those behaviour is like they are the only teachers in our State. They have no common sense. Treated other college's students very badly. The nature of the college is only political nature. If they know you, you will be treated very well by them otherwise you got insulted and harrasment.

It was established in 1986 by Sri Susanta Kumar Roy. He spent a lump sum money for extending higher education in the area. Earlier students of Jhikira, Rautara, Amragori, Joypur, Kankrol, Ghanashyam Chak, Nishchintapur etc villages of Howrah district and Palaspai, Bhairabpur, Chanpanagri, Haitpur etc villages of Hooghly district would go to Ramsaday College, Amta which is approx 10 to 15 kms away. Susanta Kumar Roy gave name of this college after his father's name. Even now they're very few departments in this college. It's an undergraduate, co-educational college and affiliated with the University of Calcutta and recognised by the University of Grants Commission.
