PLATINUM COLLEGE, located in Niuland, Nagaland, is the district's first degree institution, established in 2024. Initiated by the Western Sümi Baptist Akukuhou Küqhakulu (WSBAK) in commemoration of their platinum jubilee, the college addresses the local need for accessible higher education. Situated at the WSBAK Resource Centre in Nihokhu Village, the campus covers a spacious 68 acres, offering an environment conducive to academic and personal growth. Affiliated with Nagaland University, PLATINUM COLLEGE began its first academic term in 2024-25. The college currently provides Bachelor's degree programs in Arts, spanning subjects like English, History, Political Science, Economics, Education, and Sociology, along with a Bachelor of Music degree. It welcomed an inaugural batch of 104 students, supported by a teaching faculty of 12. On-campus hostel facilities are available for both male and female students, with plans to expand capacity based on increasing enrollment. PLATINUM COLLEGE is dedicated to offering quality, practical, and affordable education to students within the region. It aims for holistic development through secular education integrated with Christian discipline, emphasizing student needs, talent recognition, and fostering open communication. Future plans include introducing more multidisciplinary courses such as skill development, hospitality, agriculture, and postgraduate programs like BCIS and MBA to enhance career opportunities. As a pioneering institution in Niuland, PLATINUM COLLEGE plays a vital role in expanding access to higher education, striving to become a center of excellence for shaping the future generation.
