St. Thomas College of Teacher Education, Mylacompu is one of the best institutions for pursuing the teacher education courses, B.Ed and M.Ed. St. Thomas College of Teacher Education, Mylacompu, was established in the year 2005 as a self-financing institution affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University , Kottayam and recognized by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The college started functioning on 20th July 2005 with 100 students on the rolls for B.Ed Degree Course. Permission to start M.Ed. Degree Course was received on 5-1-2006 and the affiliation on 7-1-2008. St. Thomas College of Teacher Education is one of the ventures of the Diocese of Kothamangalam in the field of education. Under its management there are 99 aided schools, five affiliated colleges, one TTI and three technical institutions.

It's a Teacher's Training College .This college has both B.Ed and M.ed faculties.B.ed has a strength of about 200 student, including 1st and 2nd yr B.Ed students.For M.ed there are around 30 students in total.The Environment is calm and cooperative here.

In a remote calm area, there is enough parking space. The road in front of the college is a bit narrow. Very few shops nearby.
