Candidates applying for Common University Entrance Test for Postgraduate must have:
  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized University/Institution. Candidates appearing in the final year/semester of their Bachelor's degree/equivalent examination are also eligible.
  • Varies by university/program; generally, a pass in Bachelor's degree is required, with some universities specifying 50% for General and 45% for Reserved categories.
  • Required subjects: Varies by program; typically includes Arts, Commerce, Science, Engineering, Law, etc.

Age Limit And Relaxation

Before applying for CUET PG 2025, it’s important to check the age criteria set by the National Testing Agency. While the National Testing Agency has not imposed any upper age limit for candidates appearing in the CUET PG 2025 examination, it is crucial for applicants to note that participating universities may have their own specific age criteria for admission to various postgraduate programs. This means that while the entrance examination itself does not have a maximum age restriction, individual universities might set minimum or maximum age requirements for the courses they offer. Therefore, candidates should thoroughly review the admission policies of their desired universities and programs to confirm any specific age-related conditions. Knowing the age rules in advance ensures you apply within the permitted criteria and make full use of any relaxation benefits.

Cuet Pg Category Wise Criteria

CUET PG 2025 may offer relaxations for candidates belonging to specific reserved categories as per National Testing Agency guidelines. These benefits are provided in accordance with Government of India reservation policies, ensuring equitable opportunities for all eligible applicants. Benefits may include reduced qualifying marks, extended age limits if stipulated by the universities, or fee concessions during the application process. To avail these relaxations, candidates must upload valid and up-to-date category certificates during the online registration process. For instance, a General-EWS certificate should be issued on or after April 1, 2023, adhering to the latest Government of India guidelines. The name on the certificate must precisely match the candidate's name as it appears on their academic records and the CUET PG 2025 application. Verification of these documents will follow the official protocol set by the conducting authority and the respective participating universities. By understanding and following the process, eligible candidates can make full use of the category-based benefits available for CUET PG 2025.

Nationality, Domicile, And Foreign Applicants

CUET PG 2025 is open to Indian citizens and valid OCI/PIO card holders as per National Testing Agency rules. Beyond Indian citizens, individuals who are citizens of Nepal and Bhutan are also eligible to apply. Tibetan refugees who settled in India before January 1, 1962, with the intent of making India their permanent home, are also considered eligible applicants. Furthermore, citizens from countries such as Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam, who have permanently migrated to India, can also apply for CUET PG 2025. It is important to note that for CUET PG, a national-level examination, no specific domicile eligibility is prescribed by the National Testing Agency. However, NRI and foreign applicants should verify their specific eligibility requirements directly with the individual colleges or authorities they intend to apply to, as university-specific criteria may apply. By understanding these rules early, candidates can ensure they meet the required nationality or domicile conditions before applying.

Nationality Requirements

  • Indian Nationals are eligible. Foreign Nationals/NRI candidates should check the eligibility criteria of the respective University/Institution where they desire to apply.

Number Of Attempts

Before preparing for CUET PG 2025, it’s essential to know if there’s a cap on the number of attempts. Most national-level examinations, including CUET PG, allow candidates to appear for the test an unlimited number of times. The National Testing Agency has not prescribed any maximum number of attempts for the CUET PG 2025 examination. This means that candidates can take the examination as many times as they wish, provided they meet the other eligibility criteria each time they apply. Unlike some competitive exams such as UPSC, JEE Advanced, or CLAT UG, CUET PG does not impose restrictions on the number of times a candidate can attempt the examination. Since there are no limitations on the number of attempts, category-based relaxations on attempts are not applicable for CUET PG 2025. Being aware of this open-attempt policy helps you plan your preparation strategy effectively and allows for multiple opportunities to achieve your desired postgraduate admission.
