Q2. Which chapters have been deleted from JEE Main 2026 syllabus?

No new deletions have been made for 2026. However, topics deleted in 2024 remain excluded. These include Communication Systems in Physics, States of Matter, Surface Chemistry, s-Block Elements, Hydrogen, Environmental Chemistry, Polymers in Chemistry, and Mathematical Induction, Mathematical Reasoning in Mathematics.

Q3. Is JEE Main 2026 syllabus same as JEE Advanced?

No, JEE Main and JEE Advanced syllabi are different. JEE Main follows NCERT curriculum for Class 11 and 12, while JEE Advanced includes additional topics requiring deeper conceptual understanding. Some topics in JEE Main are not part of JEE Advanced and vice versa.

Q4. What is the weightage of Calculus in JEE Main Mathematics?

Calculus carries approximately 30-35% weightage in JEE Main Mathematics. This includes topics like Limits, Continuity, Differentiability, Integration (definite and indefinite), Applications of Derivatives, Applications of Integrals, and Differential Equations. It is the highest weightage area in Mathematics.

Q5. Is NCERT enough for JEE Main preparation?

NCERT is essential but not sufficient for JEE Main preparation. NCERT provides strong foundation, especially for Chemistry (Inorganic questions often come directly from NCERT). However, for Physics and Mathematics, you need additional reference books like HC Verma, DC Pandey, and practice from previous year papers to develop problem-solving skills.

Q6. How many chapters are there in JEE Main syllabus?

JEE Main Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) syllabus consists of approximately 19-20 chapters in Physics, 20 chapters in Chemistry (8 Physical, 4 Inorganic, 8 Organic), and 16 units in Mathematics. Total syllabus covers around 55-56 chapters/units across all three subjects.

Q7. Which subject has the highest weightage in JEE Main?

All three subjects - Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics - carry equal marks (100 each) totaling 300 marks. However, the difficulty level and scoring potential vary. Chemistry is generally considered the most scoring with more theory-based questions. Mathematics requires strong problem-solving skills, while Physics tests both concepts and numerical ability.

Q8. Is the syllabus same for JEE Main Paper 1 and Paper 2?

No, the syllabus is different. Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) includes Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Paper 2A (B.Arch) includes Mathematics, Aptitude Test, and Drawing. Paper 2B (B.Planning) includes Mathematics, Aptitude Test, and Planning. Mathematics syllabus is same in all papers.

Q9. What are the most important chapters for JEE Main 2026?

High-weightage chapters include: Physics - Ray Optics, Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Rotational Motion, Thermodynamics. Chemistry - Chemical Bonding, Coordination Compounds, Aldehydes and Ketones, Electrochemistry. Mathematics - 3D Geometry, Matrices, Differential Equations, Definite Integrals, Probability. These chapters together contribute 50-60% of the paper.

Q10. How should I prepare using JEE Main syllabus?

Start with high-weightage chapters to maximize scoring potential. Complete NCERT thoroughly for foundation. Use reference books for advanced problem practice. Solve previous year papers (last 5-7 years) to understand question patterns. Take regular mock tests. Focus on deleted syllabus topics only if they are part of JEE Advanced syllabus. Maintain a balance between all three subjects.
