Academic Eligibility For Met

Candidates applying for Manipal Entrance Test must have:
  • Passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Mathematics, and English as compulsory subjects, along with Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or any technical vocational subject as an optional subject.
  • 50% aggregate in Physics, Mathematics, and one optional subject (Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational Subject) for General category candidates.
  • Required subjects: Science stream with Physics, Mathematics, and English as compulsory subjects

Age Limit And Relaxation

Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) does not impose a strict upper age limit for candidates applying to the Manipal Entrance Test (MET) for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. While a specific minimum age criterion is not extensively detailed, eligibility is primarily based on academic qualifications such as passing the 10+2 examination. There are no explicit age relaxations for specific categories like SC/ST, OBC-NCL, or PwD mentioned in the context of the MET examination itself. However, general reservation policies might be applicable during the seat allotment process as per government regulations.

Met Category Wise Criteria

The Manipal Entrance Test (MET) administered by Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) operates under guidelines that may offer relaxations for candidates belonging to specific reserved categories. While explicit details on mark or fee concessions for categories in the MET examination are not always specified, general reservation policies apply during the seat allotment process. To avail any such benefits, candidates are typically required to upload valid and up-to-date category certificates, such as income proofs for schemes like the AICTE Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW), during the registration or counseling process. The verification of these documents follows the official protocols established by the authority.

Nationality, Domicile, And Foreign Applicants

The Manipal Entrance Test (MET), conducted by Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), is open to Indian citizens who apply under the General Category. Additionally, foreign nationals, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), and Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) card holders are eligible to apply under the Foreign/NRI Category. Admissions for the Foreign/NRI Category are typically based on the marks obtained in their qualifying examinations, and a portion of seats, often around 15%, is allocated for these candidates. For national-level examinations like MET, specific state domicile requirements are generally not a primary eligibility factor, although campus preference and related cutoffs may vary.

Nationality Requirements

  • Indian Nationals; Foreign/NRI/PIO/OCI candidates are also eligible under specific categories.

Number Of Attempts

Before preparing for the Manipal Entrance Test (MET), it is essential to know if there is a cap on the number of attempts. For undergraduate programs like B.Tech, the Manipal Entrance Test (MET) is conducted in two phases, allowing candidates a maximum of two attempts. The higher score obtained from these attempts is considered for admission purposes. There are no specific category-based relaxations or additional attempts mentioned for the MET examination.

Attempt Restrictions

Candidates can attempt the examination twice in a single admission cycle, with the better of the two scores being considered for admission.
