Age Limit And Relaxation

Before applying for SET Symbiosis Entrance Test 2025-26, it’s important to check the age criteria set by Symbiosis International (Deemed University). There is no strict upper age limit for appearing in the Symbiosis Entrance Test. While some sources suggest a minimum age of 17 years for candidates, there is no official cutoff date explicitly mentioned for age calculation. This policy allows candidates of any age to participate in the examination, provided they meet all other academic and admission requirements. Since there is no upper age limit, specific age relaxations for categories such as Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer), or Persons with Disabilities are not typically applied in terms of age for the SET exam itself. However, academic mark relaxations are provided for reserved categories. Knowing the age rules in advance ensures you apply within the permitted criteria and make full use of any relaxation benefits.

Set Category Wise Criteria

SET Symbiosis Entrance Test 2025-26 may offer relaxations for candidates belonging to specific reserved categories as per Symbiosis International (Deemed University) guidelines. These benefits primarily include a reduction in the minimum qualifying marks required, where Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates typically receive a 5% relaxation in the aggregate marks. Beyond academic criteria, reservation percentages are also applied to the sanctioned intake of seats. As per UGC 2006 guidelines, Scheduled Caste candidates have 15% reservation, Scheduled Tribes have 7.5%, and Differently Abled candidates have 3%. Additionally, there is a 5% reservation for children/wards of Defence Personnel for specific institutes like SICSR and SLS Pune, and 2 seats per program for Kashmiri Migrants and Kashmiri Pandits/Kashmiri Hindu families living in Kashmir (Non-Migrants). For candidates domiciled in Nagpur for five years or more and who have completed Class 12 or equivalent from the Maharashtra Board, 25% of seats are reserved. To avail these benefits, candidates must upload valid and up-to-date category certificates during the registration process. Verification of these documents will follow the official protocol set by the university during the Personal Interaction round. By understanding and following the process, eligible candidates can make full use of the category-based benefits available for SET Symbiosis Entrance Test.

Nationality, Domicile, And Foreign Applicants

SET Symbiosis Entrance Test 2025-26 is open to Indian citizens and valid Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) or Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) card holders as per Symbiosis International (Deemed University) rules. For a national-level university entrance examination like SET, a general domicile certificate for state-level eligibility is typically not required, although there is a specific reservation of 25% seats for candidates with Nagpur domicile for five years or more who have completed Class 12 or equivalent from the Maharashtra Board. Non-Resident Indian (NRI) and Foreign National applicants should note distinct guidelines. Foreign Nationals are exempted from appearing for SET/SITEEE 2025 and must apply directly through the Symbiosis Centre for International Education (SCIE). SCIE earmarks a maximum of 20% of the total intake for international students, which includes Foreign Nationals, Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) Card Holders, Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) Card Holders, and Non-Resident Indians (NRI). NRI students who have appeared for their 10th standard examination outside India but their 12th standard in India are mandated to appear for SET or SITEEE as applicable. By understanding these rules early, candidates can ensure they meet the required nationality or domicile conditions before applying.

Nationality Requirements

  • Indian nationals (separate admission process for NRI/PIO/OCI/Foreign Nationals)

Number Of Attempts

Before preparing for SET Symbiosis Entrance Test 2025-26, it’s essential to know if there’s a cap on the number of attempts. Most national-level examinations like SET allow candidates multiple opportunities to appear. For Symbiosis Entrance Test, a candidate can appear for up to two test attempts within the same examination cycle for SET or SITEEE 2025. The examination is conducted on two different dates in May, typically May 5 and May 11, 2025. If a candidate chooses to appear for both tests, the higher score between the two attempts will be considered for the final percentile calculation and subsequent admission process. There are no explicit category-based relaxations mentioned regarding the number of attempts; the two-attempt rule applies uniformly to all candidates. Being aware of attempt limits helps you plan your preparation strategy effectively and avoid exhausting your chances prematurely.
