Age Limit And Relaxation

Before applying for VITEEE 2025, it’s important to check the age criteria set by Vellore Institute of Technology. Candidates should be born on or after July 1, 2003. The Date of Birth recorded in the High School, SSC, or Class 10 Certificate will be considered final and must be produced in original as proof of age at the time of counseling. Candidates must have completed the age of 17 years as of July 1, 2025. There is no specified strict upper age limit mentioned beyond this birth date cut-off. Vellore Institute of Technology does not provide age relaxation benefits for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer), or Persons with Disabilities categories. All applicants must meet the specified birth date criterion to be considered eligible. Knowing the age rules in advance ensures you apply within the permitted criteria and make full use of any relaxation benefits.

Viteee Category Wise Criteria

VITEEE 2025 may offer relaxations for candidates belonging to specific reserved categories as per Vellore Institute of Technology guidelines. These benefits primarily include reduced qualifying marks in the academic examination. Candidates from Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe categories, as well as those hailing from Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, and the North-Eastern states (Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura), are required to have a minimum aggregate of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Biology in their qualifying examination, compared to 60% for general candidates. To avail these benefits, candidates must upload valid and up-to-date category certificates during registration. Specifically, SC or ST candidates must provide their community certificates, and candidates from the aforementioned special states must provide a Nativity Certificate. Verification will follow the official protocol set by the authority. It is important to note that Vellore Institute of Technology, being a private institution, does not typically adhere to government-mandated seat reservations based on caste or domicile. Admission is primarily merit-based, determined by the VITEEE rank. Furthermore, there are no fee concessions for different categories; the application fee is the same for all Indian citizens. By understanding and following the process, eligible candidates can make full use of the category-based benefits available for VITEEE.

Nationality, Domicile, And Foreign Applicants

VITEEE 2025 is open to Indian citizens and valid Overseas Citizen of India or Person of Indian Origin cardholders as per Vellore Institute of Technology rules. OCI and PIO candidates should have studied in schools located in India in the preceding two years to be considered eligible under the Indian applicant category for the examination. There is no domicile requirement for VITEEE, making it accessible to eligible candidates from any state across India. For Non-Resident Indian candidates, Vellore Institute of Technology provides a separate NRI application form, and these applicants are generally subject to the same academic eligibility criteria as Indian citizens. Foreign applicants who have completed their qualifying examination outside India should apply directly through the International application form. Specific guidelines for foreign applicants include having studied in an English-medium school and possessing Physics and Mathematics as two compulsory subjects at the A level, Form VI, or Senior VI equivalent. A third subject can be Chemistry, Computer Sciences, Electronics, Biotechnology, or Biology, with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in these subjects in the 10+2 or equivalent examination. Appearing for VITEEE 2025 is mandatory for all Indian, NRI, and PIO candidates seeking admission, unless specifically exempted under international or NRI quotas. By understanding these rules early, candidates can ensure they meet the required nationality or domicile conditions before applying.

Nationality Requirements

  • Resident Indian Nationals, Non-Resident Indian (NRI), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)/Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), and Foreign candidates

Number Of Attempts

Before preparing for VITEEE 2025, it’s essential to know if there’s a cap on the number of attempts. Most national-level exams allow unlimited attempts, and VITEEE is one such examination that does not impose a specific limit on the number of times a candidate can appear. There is no maximum number of attempts specified for VITEEE by Vellore Institute of Technology. However, the implicit restriction is the age limit criterion. Candidates must satisfy the age requirement, which states they should be born on or after July 1, 2003, for VITEEE 2025. This means that while there is no cap on attempts, eligibility for each attempt is still subject to meeting the age and educational qualification criteria as per the official notification for that specific academic year. There are no category-based relaxations concerning the number of attempts. Being aware of attempt limits helps you plan your preparation strategy effectively and avoid exhausting your chances prematurely.

Attempt Restrictions

Candidates appearing for their 12th board exams in the current academic year are also eligible.
