Delhi University (DU) replaced its traditional percentage-based cutoff system with the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) in 2022, marking a major shift in the admission process. Since then, admissions to all 79 undergraduate (UG) programmes across 69 colleges have been conducted based on CUET UG scores instead of Class 12 board marks. This change has standardized the admission process and created a single national-level entrance pathway for students seeking admission to Delhi University.
Understanding the CUET DU cut off is essential for students preparing for CUET UG 2026, as cutoff trends help estimate admission chances into top colleges and popular courses. This article provides verified college-wise and program-wise DU cut off data from 2022 to 2025, along with trend analysis, details of the complete CSAS admission process, reservation policies, and all important admission dates.

Understanding DU Cutoff Data: Score Scale Changes
DU cutoffs cannot be directly compared across years without noting the scoring system changes:
| Year | Scale | Notes |
| 2022 | Percentile (0–100) | CUET UG in first year; normalization applied |
| 2023 | Score out of 800 | NTA normalized marks |
| 2024 | Score out of 800 | Raw CUET marks (normalization discontinued mid-cycle) |
| 2025 | Score out of 1000 | New CUET UG scoring scale introduced |
CUET Marks vs Percentile: How Scores Are Compared
In earlier CUET cycles, scores were reported in percentiles, while recent years use raw marks out of 800 or 1000. Percentile-based scores measure a student's performance relative to others, whereas raw marks represent actual test scores.
Because of this shift, students should avoid directly comparing percentiles with raw scores across years. Understanding this difference helps interpret historical cuet du cut off data correctly.

Trend Observations: What Has Changed from 2022 to 2025
- Arts/Humanities rose sharply: Political Science at top colleges (Hindu, Miranda, LSR, Kirori Mal) reached 909–950/1000 in 2025 — the most competitive stream. This is a significant increase from the 767–787/800 range in 2023.
- Science fell dramatically: Science program cutoffs have remained comparatively lower than humanities and commerce programs in recent CUET cycles, partly due to parallel admission routes such as engineering and medical entrance exams. This reflects fewer students opting for CUET science papers when JEE/NEET alternatives are available.
- Commerce remains high and stable: BCom and Economics at SRCC have held near-peak position across all years. The UR–SC gap at SRCC BCom widened: 917–792 in 2025 vs. 765–710 in 2022.
- LSR Psychology holds its position: Consistently the single highest-cutoff program at LSR every year since CUET began — 926.53/1000 in 2025.
- Economics gaining on BCom: At SRCC, BA Economics General (908.90) is now within 9 points of BCom (917.43) — a reversal from 2022 when the gap was ~25 points.
Factors Affecting CUET DU Cut Off
Several important factors influence the cuet du cut off every year. Understanding these helps students estimate their admission chances more accurately.
Major factors include:
- Number of Applicants: Higher participation in the CUET exam increases competition and raises cutoffs.
- Course Popularity: Programs such as Economics, Commerce, and Political Science usually have higher cutoffs due to demand.
- Seat Availability: Colleges with fewer seats tend to have higher cutoff scores.
- Difficulty Level of CUET Paper: Easier exams generally result in higher cutoff scores.
- Reservation Categories: Reserved categories often have lower cutoff thresholds compared to the General category.
These factors collectively determine how competitive the DU cut off becomes each academic year.
Good CUET Score for DU (Stream-Wise Analysis)
Students often ask what qualifies as a good CUET score for DU. While the exact cutoff varies each year, the following ranges provide a practical benchmark based on recent CUET admission trends.
Arts & Humanities Courses
- Top Colleges (Hindu, Miranda, LSR): 900–950+
- Mid-Tier Colleges: 820–890
- Off-Campus Colleges: 700–800
Commerce Courses
- Top Colleges (SRCC, Hansraj): 900–920+
- Mid-Tier Colleges: 850–890
- Other Colleges: 750–830
Science Courses
- Top Colleges: 780–850
- Mid-Level Colleges: 650–780
- Other Colleges: 500–650
These ranges help students set realistic score targets for CUET UG 2026 preparation.
How DU CSAS Works
Three-Phase Process
Phase 1 — Registration: Register on ugadmission.uod.ac.in using CUET UG application number. Fill academic details and upload documents. Pay registration fee: ₹250 (General/OBC/EWS), ₹100 (SC/ST/PwBD). This can be done before CUET results are declared.
Phase 2 — Preference Filling: Opens after CUET UG results. Select eligible programme-college combinations and rank them by priority. A Simulated Rank List is released — a preview of where you would be allotted based on current preferences. Candidates get a Preference Modification Window (1–2 days) to reorder before final lock.
Phase 3 — Seat Allocation: Three main rounds plus Spot and Mop-Up rounds. In each round:
- Accept & Freeze: Confirm the allotted seat permanently. No further upgrades.
- Accept & Upgrade: Keep the seat but remain in the pool for a higher preference in Round 2.
- After accepting, complete document verification at the college and pay admission fees by the deadline. Failure to do so forfeits the seat.
By Round 3, almost all seats in top colleges are filled. Some Mop-Up rounds may use merit-based selection depending on vacant seats, but CUET scores remain the primary admission criterion.

Frequently Asked Questions
No. DU does not publish a single official cutoff PDF. Cutoff data is reconstructed from candidate allotment details available on the CSAS portal after each round closes. Third-party aggregators compile this data — always verify with official allotment PDFs at ugadmission.uod.ac.in.
No. If you choose "Accept & Upgrade" in Round 1 and the system does not allocate a higher preference in Round 2, your Round 1 seat is automatically retained. You can then choose to Freeze it in Round 2.
No. Preferences lock at the Phase 2 deadline. However, DU provides a Preference Modification Window for 1–2 days after the Simulated Rank List is released — use this window to refine your list based on your predicted allotment.
The old 6-cutoff-list system based on Class 12 board percentages was discontinued from 2022–23 when CUET UG was introduced. DU was among the first central universities to go fully CUET-based. The Mop-Up Round is the only remaining process where Class 12 marks are used — and only for specific colleges with vacant seats at the very end.
Based on 2025 Round 1 data: For Arts, an 850 score would qualify at Ramjas, Kirori Mal (Economics, History), but may be below General cutoff for Hindu, SRCC Economics, and LSR top programs. For Commerce (BCom), 850 may not get SRCC (917), but Hansraj (901), Kirori Mal (897), and Ramjas are reachable. Science programs are generally more accessible — BSc Physics at Hindu is 557 for General.
For Phase 1 registration: Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets, CUET UG admit card and scorecard, category certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwBD if applicable), passport-size photo, ID proof, and bank details for fee payment. Document verification is done at the allotted college — original documents are required at that stage.
